Savory Skillet Steak

Today I'm going to share with you one of my Mom's great recipes. She's a great cook and any of her recipes that I share, you can rest assured you're gonna like it!

This particular one feeds four. If your family is large, have big appetites and you need to increase the amount, simply double the meat and perhaps the potatoes. Don't increase the salt.

Ingredients:

1 lb. beef round steak, cut into serving size pieces.
1/4 cup flour
1Tbsp veg oil
1 large onion (chopped)
1 can (16 oz) whole potatoes (drain and reserve liquid)
1/4 cup ketchup
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp pepper flakes
1 tsp instant beef bouillon ( or use about 1 cup of beef broth)
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp dried marjoram
1/4 tsp pepper
1 pkg frozen Italian green beans ( frozen or good too)
1 jar sliced pimentos (optional)

Brown steak pieces that have been dredged in the flour ( make certain you really press the flour into the steak) in the oil.
Once beef is brown, push aside and add onions to oil and cook until soft. Drain off any excess fat.
Add enough water to the reserved potato liquid to measure 1 cup
Mix with all of the remaining ingredients EXCEPT for the beans, potatoes and pimentos.
Pour over the beef and onions. Heat to boiling and then reduce the heat to a simmer.
Cook for 1 and 1/4 to- 1 and 1/2 hr. Add potatoes, bean and pimentos and bring back to boil. Simmer for few more minutes. Serve with a salad. Yummy!
