Ginger Snap Cookies

This recipe will make approximately 6-7 dozen cookies

Ingredients

1 & 1/2 cups of shortening
2 cups of sugar
2 large eggs
1/2 cup of molasses
4 cups of all purpose flour
2 tsp of baking soda
1 tsp of cinnamon
1 tsp of ground cloves
1 tsp of ground ginger
Sugar for sprinkling on top

Procedure

Combine the first nine ingredients in a large mixing bow: beat at medium speed with electric mixer until blended.
Shape into 1 in. balls and roll in the additional sugar. Place on a greased cookie sheet and flatten slightly with a flat bottomed glass.
Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes. Transfer to racks to cool.
