Who doesn't like to make these all time favorites
Ingredients
1 cup of all purpose flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 unsalted butter
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup of milk
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup old fashioned oats (you can substitute the quick cooking kind of oats)
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
1 cup raisins ( you can use any type of dried fruit, such as dried cranberries for the holiday, if you feel experimental. Of course they wouldn't be called Oatmeal RAISIN cookies then)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 deg
Mix the first 4 ingredients in a bowl. Set aside
Cream together in a large bowl, with an electric mixer at medium speed, the, butter, sugars, milk, egg and vanilla.
Beat until light and fluffy. Stir in the flour mixture with a wooden spoon and then add the remaining ingredients until well blended.
Drop by large teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake for 11-12 minutes or until golden, being careful not to overbake. Transfer to metal racks to cool completely
Makes 3 doz cookies.
